LaDonna Miles, age 91, of St. James, died on January 4, 2022, at her home in Pine, AZ.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James with Rev. Clint Firstbrook officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. LaDonna Katie (Marks) Miles was born January 5, 1930, in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Seward and Elsie (Johnson) Marks. When LaDonna was 2 months old the family moved to Heron Lake, Minnesota. LaDonna attended school in Heron Lake. She was baptized and confirmed in the Heron Lake United Methodist Church. On July 23, 1947, LaDonna was united in marriage to Harold Miles. They moved to St. James where she lived until 2016 when she and her son moved to Pine, AZ. LaDonna was a 60+ year member of Eastern Star serving her Chapter as Worthy Matron three times. She served Minnesota Grand Chapter as Grand Ruth in 2008-2009. She was also Guardian for Jobs Daughters and a Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Den Mother. LaDonna is known for her many craft projects and baking of yeast breads, rolls and pies. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. With Harold they traveled to all states except Hawaii, which she visited twice with her son and granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson (Monte Hemmingsen), son-in-law (Jim Blain), brother-in-law and infant nephew. LaDonna is survived by her daughters Kathleen (Dennis) Hemmingsen, Pine, AZ and Eileen Blain, Kent, WA and son Mark Miles, Pine, AZ. Four grandchildren, Heidi (Hemmingsen) Santos, Kurt Hemmingsen, Anne Blain, and Alexis Miles , 5 great-grandchildren and her sister, Doris Grube, Heron Lake, MN.
