Theology in the Trenches: Oralia Part I
Guatemala Outreach: I’d heard the name but had never met her face to face. This woman of courage, this woman of strength, this woman of integrity, and this woman of faith was the director of Hogar de Vida for many a year. I am home from traveling with a team from northern Minnesota (2 retired nurses, 1 message therapist, 1 carpenter, 1 child care specialist, and 2 retired reading specialists). I still have never met Oralia although I feel as though I have. By the time you finish reading this, I pray you will know her, too.

Climate-smart communities
Learning from others has been a way people have made changes to make things better for future generations. Last month Region 9 sent community delegates from St. James, Comfrey, and New Ulm to Germany to learn about what cities have been doing to develop clean energy and share information about being a welcoming community. Delegates from St. James were Sue and Paul Harris, Jim and Pat Branstad, and Luisa Trapero.

Fun for all ages
Watonwan County Libraries has an amazing list of activities for all ages from kindergarten to adults to partake in all year. It has been adding new events for a few months now for people to enjoy. Seeing what is being put together is fun to see and read what people will be enjoying. Before this past weekend I have attended a few events to cover for the paper, but this weekend I was able to attend one with my family to enjoy as a parent and not as a reporter.
