
Jeff Nelson Memorial Tournament Provides Cyclone Youth Days of Action
Two days of youth wrestling filled the St. James Area High School Event Center, an individual tournament on Saturday, January 7th, and an 8-team tournament the following day.

Ciske hired as new Watonwan County Food Shelf Coordinator
New Year sometimes means a new job or position at work, Stevie Ciske’s new year is having that happen. Last week was her first week at her new job as the Coordinator of the Watonwan County Food Shelf.
Parents are People Too
I consider myself extremely fortunate. Both parents, whom I love, are still living. Along with three brothers, we all grew up healthy, fed well with clothes that didn’t have holes or rips. Holes and rips were not in fashion back then.
Emerald Ash Borer confirmed in Watonwan County
Emerald Ash Borer was first discovered in Minnesota in 2009. Since then, 37 counties in Minnesota have gotten the news of there being a confirmed sighting of Emerald Ash Borer in their county.

Robert Melvin Roeglin, 86, of St. James died on January 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.
Gary Missling
Gary Missling, 80, of St. James died on January 5, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System - St. Mary’s in Rochester. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church- St. James where a Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. The clergy will be Rev. Mandy France. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, in St. James at a later date. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in St. James. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Collectibles and Thrift Store suffered water damage
Collectibles and Thrift Store has been a business in St. James for 15 years. In those years owner Karen Royce has been successful with her store up until recently she has never had an issue with it either. Over Christmas weekend Royce had something no store owner wants to have happened.
