Robert “Bryce” Bregel

Robert “Bryce” Bregel was born on August 28, 1954, to Charles and Valerie (Shaw) Bregel in Sleepy Eye. Bryce was one of 10 children, and as a child, his family moved around frequently.

On May 31, 1975, Bryce married Cheryl Diane Fast at Saint Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Butterfield. The couple settled in their home on 1st Street in Butterfield and resided there until Bryce’s passing. Bryce was a plumber by trade, and he worked in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). He always enjoyed helping other people.

Bryce passed away on Wednesday, May 18 with his wife by his side, at the Good Samaritan Society in Windom, at the age of 67 years. At this time, Cheryl is honoring Bryce’s wishes not to have a funeral service, but a Celebration of Life Service may be held later.

Bryce is survived by his wife, Cheryl Bregel, of Butterfield; eight siblings, Rick (Lila) Bregel of Apache Junction, Ariz., Cheryl (Dave) Abelson of Mt. Lake, Gary (Marsha) Bregel of Littleton, Colo., Brian Bregel of Antioch, Calif., Susie (Rick) Ford of Muskogee, Okla., Jim (Cindy) Bregel of Anoka, Loren (Wendy) Bregel of Eden Prairie, and Jon (Heather) Bregel of New Ulm; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Betty Fast; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Bryce was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Valerie Bregel; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Esther and Arnold Fast; and one brother, Michael Bregel.
