St. James celebrates all cultures at Multicultural Fiesta

Uniting Cultures hosted St James’ fifth Multicultural Fiesta on Saturday, September 14. Since 2017, the celebration has grown so much that it had to move from downtown to Memorial Park. This year’s extra space was filled with people who came to celebrate their culture and others.

Musical and dance performances provided entertainment featuring Hmong, American Folk, Indigenous, Scottish, Mexican and Guatemalan. Entertainment also included Community Education which had a game area for kids and DaNiella’s Face Painting had a booth providing face painting to everyone.

Vendors were there with crafts, cultural items, food and information.

St. James Community Education had an area of games for kids to play to get prizes.
Uniting Cultures had a booth where people could get stickers of countries flags that represent their culture.
Nkauj Hmoob Dancers Southwest, a Hmong dance school, performed traditional dances in Hmong dresses.
Uniting Cultures had a board where people could put stickers of countries’ flags to represent where they are from.
