Wayne E. Stade

TRUMAN – A Private Family Service for Wayne E. Stade, 76, of Truman will be held at Kramer Family Funeral Home Chapel in Trimont. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in rural Odin.
Wayne was called to his eternal rest on Monday evening, October 17, 2022, at Heartland Senior Living in Truman. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.kramerfuneralhome.com.
Wayne Edward Stade was born on March 27, 1946, to Donald and LuVerne (Baarts) Stade in Fairmont. According to his mother, Wayne was an inquisitive toddler that liked to “get into things.” Wayne was joined by a younger brother, and his best friend, Roger on March 20, 1948. As a little boy, Wayne loved going to his Grandpa George’s farm. Wayne truly enjoyed the farm life and was adored by his grandparents.
Wayne attended school in Dunnell and Truman. After deciding he had enough schooling, Wayne began working at Butterfield Foods. After a few years, Wayne began farming with his Uncle Ed Baarts and Grandma Christine Baarts, first at Truman, then at New Richland. Wayne would often rise at 4 or 4:30 in the morning to get the cows ready for milking. This was something he really loved doing.
Wayne’s life would be changed forever when his brother, and best friend, Roger was killed in an automobile accident. From this Wayne would never recover. Wayne then became employed at Tri-County Industries in Fairmont where he would stay for approximately 25 years before moving to Worthington and working for a box company until he retired in 2008.
In retirement, Wayne loved to read comic books, watch old westerns on television, play cards and listen to “oldies music.” Elvis and 60’s music were his favorites. Wayne was always a happy person and had a smile on his face when he greeted everyone. As Wayne’s brother Leroy once said, “Wayne never complained about anything!” He genuinely always cared about others.
A series of health issues began for Wayne in 2011 which made many things a challenge. Despite these issues, Wayne still maintained his amazing personality. The folks in Truman Senior Living can attest to that. Because of these health issues, Wayne was called home to be with Jesus on the evening of October 17, 2022.
Wayne left us all many great memories that we will always treasure. Wayne is survived by his brothers Leroy of Fairmont, Steve of Trimont, and Dennis (Stacey) of Odin, as well as sisters Faye of Fairmont and Lori of Trimont. Wayne is also survived by his nieces and nephews Matt (Ashley) Stade of Mankato, Kelly (Jerry) Teigland of Trimont, and Sarah (special friend Mike) Stade of Rochester, Emma, Samuel and Elena Stade, all of Odin, and Elaine Peterson of Fairmont, along with many cousins and great-nephews and -nieces.
Wayne is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Christine Baarts, along with Herman and Bertha Stade; parents Donald and Luverne Stade; brother Roger; all of his uncles and aunts, and many of his cousins.
“Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21
