Sam and Haily Join Watonwan County 4-H staff

Watonwan County 4-H has two new people a part of the extension office. Haily Green and Sam Crowley have started recently as the summer intern and administrative assistant.

Music in the Park is back with local talent and food

During the summer of 2021, St. James had a couple of Music in the Park events for the community to enjoy, they were Broadway in the Park and The Wildflowers Band. After a year hiatus Music in the Park is back again with a summer full of local groups and artists.

Track and Field Efforts Gain Chance at State for Saints

The 3A South Sub-section meet took place at Mapleton on May 25th with the top eight individuals and top four relays advancing to this Saturday’s Section 3A meet to be held at Mankato West. Both SJA squads ended in the middle of the team standings with Gavin Firchau qualifying in all four of his events and winning the long jump.

Grand Slam Halts Saints Baseball Playoff Run

The #3-seeded Saint James Area Saints rallied to dig their way out of an early deficit but lost 13-9 on a long ball in the third game against Windom Area this season. Down 8-3 after an inning the team rallied to force a 9-9 tie after five innings at the Irish Yard on May 30th.

Section Playoffs Signal End of Season for Saints

St. James Area tennis ended the 2023 season with team, singles, and doubles competition in Section 2A tournaments. The doubles team of Andre Rivera and Brennan Kern represented well, winning a pair of matches.

Saints Find Hosts Unfriendly in 2nd Round of 3AA Playoffs

Luverne rolled to a 10-0 win in five innings to make quick work of a playoff matchup, after an opening round victory by St. James on May 27th. Wyatt Haler smacked a pair of singles for what would be the only hits of the game for the Saints.
