St. James Saints Run Roughshod Over Raiders in 86-40 Victory
Nicollet became the latest victim of a late-season winning streak with St, James Area staking a 50-20 halftime lead in the non-conference matchup. Eleven Saints players made their way into the scoring column during their 3rd straight win.

Strong Season for GBB Ends With Playoff Setback to Luverne
The 2022-23 SJA girls basketball season wrapped up at 16-12 as top-seeded Luverne beat the Saints 70-45. Taylor Sodeman’s three point heroics brought the team within striking distance before halftime but the 24-3 Cardinals were not to be denied.

Miest Gains Experience Representing Saints Wrestling at State
As the 152-pound Section 2A runnerup Levi Miest earned his first trip to the State Wrestling Tournament at the XCel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Busy beginning of March
If the saying for how March comes in and leaves can be put to how busy the paper has been instead of the weather I think and hope it to be true. This month the paper is bringing back the progress section, with Covid and changes in ownership, this section has not been in the paper for a few years. It will be in March 16 and 23 paper, the theme for this year is community matters there are various stories about what is happening in the community from the city to the schools. It is my first time working with the section so I hope you all enjoy it over the next two weeks.

Butterfield-Odin’s Entrepreneur class had Andrew Herr from GAT Enterprises come in as a guest speaker on Feb.17. He spoke to the class about his experience being an entrepreneur and a business leader.

Arnold “Arnie” Joseph Bottem, 90, passed away on March 1, 2023, in Burnsville from complications of congestive heart failure. He was surrounded with love from his wife Delores and other family members.
