
New mayor and council members sworn in; St. James ambulance members see new positions
Two new city officials and a returning one were sworn in on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the St. James City Council meeting. The two new officials sworn in were Mayor Chris Whitehead and Councilman Steve Linde and the returning official was Councilwoman Sue Craig.

St. James School Board swore in two new board members
The St. James School Board met for its monthly meeting on Monday, Jan. 13. As it 2024 was an election year with two open seats on the board to fill there were two new board members sworn in during the organizational meeting that occurred before the regular school board meeting. Eugene Hildebrandt and Karen Menssen were the two new board members sworn in.

St. James’ new Mayor Chris Whitehead takes office; sees role to continue growth and strengthen St. James
The City of St. James inaugurated its new Mayor Chris Whitehead on Tuesday, Jan. 7 during the first city council meeting of 2025. Whitehead who has been a part of the St. James community his entire life sees his role as Mayor to continue the city’s growth and strengthen the community.

Sainettes honored for all-conference performance
The St. James Saintettes danceline earned a placing among the best at the Big South Conference showcase in Fairmont on January 9th. Development into a competition program notched another big milestone for the Saintettes as the effort was rewarded with All-Conference distinction.
Saints bounce back and defeat Crusaders
After several rough games, the St. James Area girls basketball team found their rhythm against Mankato Loyola for a 72-58 nonconference victory. Three Saints hit double figures, Reese Malmgren, Journey Swanson, and Madelyn Malmgren, and a large rebounding advantage fueled the win.
