Young team who’s ready to learn
Starting blocks and running shoes are coming out of storage with the start of track season for St. James athletes. Practices started on March 14 for the team and they recently had their first two meets where there were a lot of the kids placed.
Saints take first place in 8 events
The Saints track team traveled to Mankato for another indoor track meet last Tuesday. At their first meet of the season both teams had runners place, making for a good starting place for the season.

You know how sometimes you go to visit your parents but you don’t want to stay with them because, you know, they’re your parents? So you decide to stay nearby, but not that nearby because, well, they’re your parents? But it’s also spring break for the kiddos so you dish out a little more scratch than usual and stay not just at a hotel but a resort with a full-on water park, with lots of pools and water slides galore? And you know how the first few days are good, clean family fun, swimming during the days, seeing the folks in the evening but then you learn that the resort offers something else and that something else is… golf? And you know how halfway through your stay, the PGA walks in like they own the joint? I hate it when that happens.

Spring play has secret that’s been kept from the audience

St. James Fire Department has been a apart of Luke Malmgren’s family starting with his grandfather, Howard Malmgren, who was then followed by his father, Kevin Malmgren, then Luke himself.
Monnens steps down as water department superintendent
Working for and with the St. James community has been a part of Jason Monnens’ life for over two decades. Having been born and raised in St. James he started working with city when he joined the Fire Department 26 years ago then he moved to working full time for the city.

Connor Jones signs to play baseball at RCTC
Last Wednesday Connor Jones was joined by his parents, and coach for his signing to play baseball at Rochester Community and Technical College next year. The yellow-jackets were one of the only teams that Jones looked at going to play for.
