20th annual District 840 Foundation Cash for Kids Auction

The District 840 Foundation 20th annual Cash for Kids Auction will be Sunday, April 3, 7 p.m. to Sunday, April 10, 8:30. Viewing and registration for the auction starts on Friday April 1. District 840 Foundation Director Pam Runge said the auction helps raise money that allows the foundation to buy educational items for the students that the school budget doesn’t cover.

Local artisans spotlights Blue Earth Clay

Jon Nibbe along with area artist and friends, Casey Hochhalter, Tyler Danielson, Selena Medellin, Barb Page, Tony Peregrin, Shawn Bagley, Bill Swan Dylan Engel, AylaJean Madden Root, Paul Nibbe, Ann Nibbe, Nare Wells, and Matt King have been helping and working on pieces that showcase the infamous Blue Earth Clay. The clay has a long history of being a predominant clay for artists to use, which caused a depletion in the resource, but it can still be found in farmers river banks.

Women of Today Easter Egg Hunt

Mark your calendars! The St. James Women of Today will again be sponsoring the 28th Annual Easter Egg Event on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the Watonwan Co. fair grounds. Children ages 1 - 12, along with their parents, are invited to come, starting at 10:00 AM. (under age 1 will get a gift bag). If health conditions are safe, and weather permits, we plan to “hunt” for eggs, meet and have pictures taken with the Easter bunny, and go through our games and obstacle course. St. James FFA showing Silo

The Saint James Area FFA Chapter will be showing the film Silo at the Princess Theater on Monday, April 4th at 7:00 p.m. The film Silo is the first film to feature a grain entrapment.

Watonwan County 4-H Dairy Project Bowl Team headed to State Competition

The Watonwan County 4-H Dairy Project Bowl competed at regionals in Redwood Falls on Saturday March, 19th. The team placed 1st and will be headed to the State Competition on April 9th, where they have the chance to win and go on to the national contest. The team is lead by two incredible coaches, Andy Pierson and Kari Miest. The team members are Ryan Pierson, Levi Miest, Mykela Hanson, Trenton Kettner, and Kalen Hanson. Watonwan County 4-H is incredibly proud of all the hard work and time these youth have put in and what they have accomplished.
