South Central College announced its 2021 Fall Semester Dean’s/President’s List. Students who have achieved a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher and completed at least 12 credits that semester were recognized on the list.

40th annual New Ulm Hub Club Farm Show to take place March 11-12

It’s back! It may be a year late, but the 40th annual New Ulm Farm-City Hub Club Farm Show will take place Friday and Saturday, March 11 and 12 in the Civic Center on the Brown County Fairgrounds. The Farm Show committee and Hub Club members are excited to be able to hold the show.

Chili Cook-Off

Foods I had its trimester chili cook-off on Thursday and Friday. This trimester 4 teams were formed in the class, all of which created their own recipe for their chili.

Life changes but the Bible doesn’t

I’m old enough to remember how it was to NOT have GPS or cell phones as we navigated the streets. If I wanted to go somewhere unknown I needed written out instructions. I vividly remember turning down the radio in order to see the numbers of the houses… not sure why that worked, but it always did. When the instructions were incomplete or mistakenly written down, I was lost. I would often feel that moment of panic, anxiety, and I broke down many times crying in despair. We live in a world of panic, anxiety, and multiple crying spells. Life isn’t always predictable and it doesn’t always seem possible to turn down the noise in order to see the future ahead of us.

Marjorie B. Vogt

TRUMAN - Marjorie B. Vogt, age 89 of Truman, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022 at Heartland Senior Living in Truman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, February 28 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. A time for visitation will be held from 9-10:30am, prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Lanny Leverne Overson

Lanny Leverne Overson, aged 77, beloved husband of Emma, passed away peacefully Monday evening, February 21, 2022. His final months were spent surrounded by the family and friends he loved so much as he valiantly battled brain cancer.

Germaine Rust

ST. JAMES - Germaine Grove Knickrehm Rust of St. James passed away at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato on February 7, 2022. Services for Germaine will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. James with Pastor Martin Lopahs officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at St. Paul’s Church. A private family burial will be held at Mt. Hope cemetery. You may send the family condolences online at www.sturmfh.com. RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA - Howard L. Humbles, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loved ones on January 15th, 2022 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
