With coaches and many participants rolling straight into Danceline season, the Cheer Team’s awards banquet did not find a time and place until March 29th at Armstrong School. The group recapped a successful season and celebrated the contributions of members.

Tennis Season Opener is a Pair of Doubles Events
The bus carried the St. James Area boys tennis team to their first action of the season at St. Peter on April 1st. Matches were all of the doubles variety and the event was held at Gustavus Adolphus College.

St. Paul’s Evening Guild Easter Gift bags for the children
After Church on Sunday, April 2, the Evening Guild handed out Easter Bags to children attending church. The bags were created for different levels of ages.
St. James cyclones send 11 wrestlers to NYWA state
The St- James Cyclones finished up their folkst.yle season by sending 11 wrestlers to the NYWA state & invite tournament in Rochester. The cyclones qualified 4 wrestlers in the state tournament Bryce Siem, Jaxon Romsdahl, Knox Barrett, and Dax Romsdahl. Bryce Siem took home the State Championship in the 3-4t,h grade 95 lb weight class by recording 4 falls en route to his gold medal. Jaxon Romsdahl qualified for the 1-2 grade 61 lb bracket and went 2-2 on the day falling 1 match short of the podium. Knox Barrett qualified for the 5-6 grade 140 lb bracket and dropped both of his matches going 0-2. Dax Romsdahl qualified in the 1-2 57 lb bracket and dropped both of his matches going 0-2.
St. James Area Shows Strength in Relays at Indoor Meet
The Saints track squads competed in an indoor track meet on March 28th on the campus of Minnesota State-Mankato. Several 1st place showings were awarded to the red and black tracksters for both the boys and girls teams.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is an incurable terminal disease. Upon diagnosis, the typical ALS patient’s life expectancy is 2-5 years. Corinee Brown was diagnosed in October of 2009 and passed away August 27, 2015. Her brave battle with this disease was an inspiration to those who knew her. The only thing she could do to fight back was to join the ALS Walk movement. To continue the fight Corinee’s husband Bill Brown along with their friends hosts Crazy Bingo to Defeat ALS.
