Darlene Hilda Irene Miller, 81, of Wells died July 2, 2022, at UHD Hospital in Blue Earth of natural causes. Darlene is survived by her daughters: Diane (David) Crimmins of Brooklyn Park, Dalene (Joel) Annen of Winnebago, and Dawn Westermann of Alexandria; sisters: Laura Greiner of Fairmont and Avis (Raymond) Roiger of New Hope, brother: Melvin (Lola Johnson) Miller of Madelia, nine grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

A season update shows the St. James Junior Legion team opened with an exciting win in an extra-inning affair over New Ulm on June 1 and recent games included a 3-1 loss to Blue Earth on June 29 and a 3-3 tie with Lake Crystal on June 25.
James Gang turns corner on winning ways
Claiming victories in four of the last six games, the James Gang 16/18 softball team is nearing the break even mark for the 2022 season. A recent split in a doubleheader against Blue Earth followed recent wins over Brandon Valley and the Kato Peppers. The matchup with Blue Earth marked the second doubleheader, and the second split, for the two teams. The season opened with a twinbill against Blue Earth, resulting in a pair of one-run wins as the James Gang won 10-9 and Blue Earth came out ahead 4-3 in the other contest.

Early leads disappear in Upper Midwest Classic Tournament at New Ulm
The St. James Legion baseball team carried a 11-4 season record into the 16-team Upper Midwest Classic tournament hosted by Post #132 in New Ulm. St. James jumped to a lead in each of their games against Mankato, Marshall, and Roseville but couldn’t hold on.
