University of Wisconsin-Stout Dean’s List for the spring 2022 semester. The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above. Two students in the Plaindealer area were named to the list.

Watonwan County 4-H summer programs
This summer the Watonwan County 4-H is offering some summer programs for kids to enjoy through the summer. Kids entering grades 1st through 7th grade can participate in 4 different events throughout the summer.

Mary Shupe
Mary Shupe, 75, of St. James passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato.

Miest is off and running as new Cross Country Head Coach
St. James Area cross country, one of the more successful programs in the area, will see a change at the top as Kari Miest succeeds Brad Stark as head coach. As an assistant coach for the past nine years, the odds are high that Miest will carry on the methods and strategies that have built the program.

James Gang 10U undefeated in tournament
The James Gang Fastpitch 10U team played in the Southern Star tournament in Waseca on June 25 and 26 and were undefeated. St. James defeated Waseca 10-0, Mankato Peppers Blue 6-2, Martin County West 15-0, New Ulm 9-4, Mankato Peppers Blue 7-1. Boys Hoops under direction of Schroeder for 2022-23 season
Adam Schroeder has moved into the head boys basketball coaching position for St. James Area High School, replacing Spencer Monson who assumed a new position in the Blue Earth Area school district. An assistant for the boys program the past six years, Schroeder also brings head coaching experience with a previous stint at the helm of the SJA girls basketball program.

Madelia Health Welcomes Patrice Luker
Madelia, Minn. – Madelia Health announces the addition of Patrice Luker to their Clinic Team in Madelia. Luker is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and she joins Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Nik Krahn, on our Mental Health Care staff.
